BrineZero is a highly efficient, non-membrane, thermal distillation process that operates with the managed precipitation of sparingly soluble salts (e.g., CaSO4). High Gain Output Ratios (GOR) are achieved by locating hot films of evaporating brine close to cooled films of condensing water vapor with the heat released by the condensing vapor returned to the process. Working up to the limit where highly soluble salts become saturated (e.g., a TDS of 200,000 ppm), BrineZero is projected to recover 98% of the water from Yuma MODE RO concentrate at a Gain Output Ratio (GOR) of 10.
