Luis Cruzado is a Chemical Engineer with the Bureau of Reclamation's Yuma Desalting Plant in Yuma, Arizona. He has been with Reclamation for 5 years, managing projects, designing plant improvements, and leading research. He currently coordinates research at the Water Quality Improvement Center. He has supported research conducted by CalPoly - Pamona, Carollo Engineers, and Harvard University as well as internal Reclamation projects such as the San Luis Demonstration Plant and research into chlorine resistant membranes. He has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico.
Finalists will attend a demonstration event in June 2022 to compete for the Final Prize at the Bureau of Reclamation’s Yuma Desalting Plant. The Demonstration Event Panel will be present for the Finalists’ demonstrations and will provide feedback that will inform the selection of the Winner for the $150,000 award. A pool of $100,000 may be additionally awarded to Finalists who are not named as the Winner. Determination of the Winner and the award of additional prizes rests with solely with Common Pool.
